DES MOINES, Iowa (Aug. 6, 2020)—Safe + Sound Week, a countrywide event recognizing the successes of workplace safety programs, is August 10–16, 2020. EMC Insurance Companies is an official business supporter of the Safe + Sound Campaign, which is organized by the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA). EMC was the first insurance company to join this campaign.
Safe + Sound Week is the highlight of OSHA’s year-round Safe + Sound campaign aimed at encouraging every workplace to have a safety and health program to protect workers from occupational injuries and illnesses. To support the goal, OSHA provides informational resources to help employers build a safety culture and create a program for preventing injuries at their own organizations.
Founded in 1911, EMC has a long history of promoting safe workplaces by providing loss control services to policyholders, including hazard assessments, environmental health monitoring and onsite safety training.
