DES MOINES, Iowa (Sept. 13, 2020)—EMC Insurance Companies has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2020 honor by The Des Moines Register for a seventh time.
“We are honored to once again be named a Top Workplace by the Des Moines Register,” said EMC President and CEO Scott Jean. “The incredible teams here at our corporate headquarters and our local branch office show up each day ready to contribute to the positive and collaborative culture we have built, and I am so proud to work alongside them.”
EMC Resident Vice President and Des Moines Branch Manager John Schumacher added, “EMC believes that in order to be successful as a company, we need to care for our teams so they can focus on caring for our customers. This recognition is a testament to that belief.”
The Top Workplace list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage, LLC. The anonymous survey uniquely measures 15 drivers of engaged cultures that are critical to the success of any organization: including alignment, execution, and connection, just to name a few.
“In times of great change, it is more important than ever to maintain a connection among employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “When you give your employees a voice, you come together to navigate challenges and shape your path forward based on real-time insights into what works best for your organization.”
EMC Insurance Companies is among the top 60 property/casualty insurance organizations in the country based on net written premium, with more than 2,400 employees. Employers Mutual Casualty Company (EMCC) was organized in 1911 to write workers’ compensation protection in Iowa.
