– More than 500 Nonprofits Supported Around the Country –
DES MOINES, Iowa (April 22, 2026)–Today, EMC Insurance and the EMC Insurance Foundation announced their charitable giving and community impact for 2025. Last year, the Foundation made grants to 97 nonprofits. An additional 410 nonprofits were supported through EMC's workplace giving campaign with team member gifts that were matched by the Foundation.
Since its establishment in 1989, the Foundation’s charitable giving totals more than $35 million. EMC also funds numerous community events and initiatives each year using corporate dollars for even greater impact.
“2025 demonstrated how all of us at EMC strive to 'live our mission' of improving lives," said Scott Jean, EMC Insurance President and CEO. “Through our Foundation granting, corporate giving, and volunteerism, we supported more than 500 nonprofits around the country with monetary gifts and several hundred other nonprofits with company-provided volunteer hours."

2025 Community Impact Highlights
- Awards Received:
- Association of Fundraising Professionals, Central Iowa Chapter: Winner of the Outstanding Corporate Foundation Philanthropy (Large) Award
- Iowa Architectural Foundation: Winner of the Community Enhancement Through Architecture and Design Award. This award is in recognition of EMC's leadership in enhancing downtown Des Moines through design excellence and civic investment in projects like the EMC Downtown Park, the EMC Overlook at MacRae Park, and other projects.
- Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DEIB):
- EMC's commitment to DEIB was demonstrated through support of many central Iowa community events like Capital City Pride's PrideFest, CelebrAsian, Iowa Juneteenth, Latino Heritage Festival, Girls on the Run 5K, and more.
- 16.2% of EMC team members participated in one or more of EMC’s seven business resource groups (BRGs), which provide a sense of community and belonging across the organization. EMC's BRGs include: Asian American and Pacific Islander, Abilities, Black and African American, Hispanic and Latinx, LGBTQ+, Military, and Women.
- Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity Panel Build: EMC aided the organization in their work to provide multiple families with stable, affordable homes during a panel build on the EMC campus in downtown Des Moines. In May 2025, more than 60 EMC team members assembled panels that became the walls of a house for a local Habitat family.
- Donation Drives:
- EMC hosted donation events to support United Way of Central Iowa’s Stuff the Bus book drive and their Day of Action school pantry hygiene drive, as well as collecting canned food for local food pantries.
- In December 2025, EMC held its annual Orchard Place holiday gift drive and collected more than 300 gifts to help local children and families have a happier holiday season.
EMC’s offices across the nation also contributed greatly to their communities through sponsoring events, and hosting fundraisers and donation drives to support local nonprofit organizations. A few examples include:
- Lansing, Michigan team members helped Potter Park Zoo prep for the Winter Wonderland of Lights event by hanging strings of lights, raking leaves, and interacting with the animals along the way.
- Cincinnati, Ohio team members spent a day at Cincinnati Animal CARE, walking dogs, cleaning kennels, and socializing with the animals.
