Restrictions

To qualify for charitable matching, all original donations must be made to registered 501(c)(3) organizations. EMC will verify the organization’s status. In addition, the following charitable matching restrictions exist:

  • NO political parties, campaigns or candidates, or partisan political organizations
  • NO sectarian, or religious and denominational organizations (except for specific programs that are broadly promoted, available to anyone, and free from religious orientation)
  • In addition, EMC Insurance reserves the right to deny donations to organizations that discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender identity, marital status, ancestry, physical or mental disability, veteran status, sexual orientation or any other protected class in their delivery of services.

Animal Welfare

Supports shelters, rescue operations, and wildlife conservation. Examples: National Humane Society, National Wildlife Federation, local animal shelters, and land conservation efforts.

Funds museums, theaters, and cultural programs. Examples: Local performing arts centers, zoos, and historical societies.

Disaster Relief

Provides aid during natural disasters like hurricanes, earthquakes, and floods. Examples: American Red Cross, United Way, and local community foundations assisting disaster-affected areas.

Education

Supports scholarships, school supplies, and educational programs. Examples: Junior Achievement, Reach Out and Read, local scholarship programs, and tutoring initiatives.

Health

Funds medical research, hospitals, and health services. Examples: American Lung Association, Ronald McDonald House Charities, local mental health organizations, and children’s hospitals.

Supports shelters, housing programs, and services for those experiencing homelessness. Examples: Habitat for Humanity, Family Promise, local emergency shelters, and domestic violence shelters.

Funds food banks, meal programs, and initiatives to combat food insecurity. Examples: Feeding America, Meals on Wheels, local food banks, and meal-packing sites.

Supports mentoring programs, leadership development, and youth activities. Examples: Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, Girls on the Run, local youth camps, and after-school programs.
