Why we do it
We believe in walking the walk when it comes to community involvement. That’s why we give our team members volunteer time off (VTO) every year—a chance for them to get involved with causes close to their hearts. By building a culture of giving, we can uplift the well-being of the communities we serve and make a positive impact where it matters.

EMC Insurance Companies Plaza at Hoyt Sherman Place is an accessible outdoor performance space for concerts and community events.
EMC DAM to DSM
This 20K race crosses some of Iowa's rural beauty and Des Moines’ most storied neighborhoods before finishing in the heart of downtown.
New Year's Eve Pops
EMC is an exclusive sponsor of this yearly concert to ring in the New Year, during which the Des Moines Symphony performs popular modern music selections.
EMC Downtown Park
This partnership between EMC and Des Moines Parks and Recreation serves over 2,400 downtown residents living within a 10-minute walk.
