DES MOINES, Iowa (May 28, 2024)–EMC Insurance announced today that Matt Spackman has joined the company as senior vice president – chief human resources officer. In this position, Spackman will oversee all human resources strategy and activity, including the areas of talent acquisition, talent management, total rewards and organizational effectiveness. He replaces Teresa Miller in the role, who is retiring this summer.
“We are excited to have someone with Matt’s experience join EMC,” said Executive Vice President Beth Nigut. “Matt has a diverse and strategic skillset, having successfully led teams in the areas of human resources, operations, business analytics, and research.”
Previously, Spackman worked at Krause Group, Kum & Go, Athene, North American Management and Brigham Young University, among others. He also taught as a college professor in research methods, statistics and applied social psychology.
He has a doctorate in social psychology from Georgetown University and a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in psychology from Brigham Young University.
