Claim Reporting Guidelines

The following are general guidelines for auto, property, and workers’ compensation claims:

  • If anyone is injured, immediately call emergency services.

  • Report the accident to the police.

  • Exchange names, driver license numbers, addresses, and insurance information with the driver(s) of the other vehicle(s).

  • Record the following information:

    • Date, time, and place of accident

    • Name and address of owner of the other vehicle, if different from the driver

    • Names and addresses of passengers and witnesses

    • License plate number of the other vehicle and the witnesses’ vehicles

  • Take photos of damage to vehicles and/or property, accident scene, and identification (insurance cards, license plates, etc.).

  • Promptly report the claim.

  • If anyone is injured, call emergency services.

  • Take appropriate steps to avoid further damage to the property.

  • Promptly report the claim.

  • In the case of an emergency, call emergency services.
  • Report the claim promptly.
  • All employers are required to notify OSHA when an employee is killed on the job or suffers a work-related hospitalization, amputation, or loss of an eye.
  • A fatality must be reported to OSHA within 8 hours.
  • An in-patient hospitalization, amputation, or eye loss must be reported to OSHA within 24 hours.

Physical Damage Appraisals

Our Estimatics Review Unit specializes in assessing auto, truck, heavy equipment, recreational vehicle, watercraft, and specialty equipment damage. We offer a variety of services, including field inspections, review of independent appraisals, and processing of total loss settlements.

Subrogation Recovery

The subrogation team at EMC is staffed by experienced claims professionals who work together to collect payment from the responsible parties for the damage they’ve caused.
