In early October, the Charlotte branch hosted their first VA agency sales meeting for the year at The Park RVA, an indoor entertainment facility. The day began with remarks from Dioscia Williams, Branch VP, and then moved into a unique speed dating knowledge session where agents had the opportunity to hear 7 quick and engaging presentations. The presentation topics were, leadership, niche campaigns, loss control, claims/return to work, petro, and schools. EMC team members floated from table to table, engaging in insightful discussions with the agents.
After the business session, the atmosphere shifted to a more relaxed and fun-filled environment. Agents and EMC employees could unwind and bond over various arcade games, including pinball machines, duck bowling, mini golf, and virtual golf. It was a fantastic day of learning, sharing, and having fun with the VA agents!
Kudos to the Charlotte branch and the table topic leaders on a fantastic event!
We’re excited to announce a new feature on our Commercial Policyholder Access portal that will improve our customer experience: Self-registration for policyholders! This new process is more user-friendly and less time-consuming for both our customers and you!
Policyholders can now take the lead in registering for the portal by visiting EMCInsurance.com. They’ll select Login, then Commercial Insurance Policyholder from the drop-down menu. From there, they'll click on New User Administrator Registration and simply enter their account number, ZIP code, and agent code (found at the top of their Common Declarations page). The administrator has the option to add up to two additional admins, if desired, and unlimited users. When users are added, they will get an email with their login information and a temporary password.
This change is more than just a procedural update—it's convenient for policyholders and easier for you. By reducing the administrative steps required for registration, we’re removing barriers to signing up and freeing up your time to focus on other tasks. But don’t worry; if you enjoy providing white glove service to your customers, you’ll still have the option to send them an email invitation to initiate the process.
Once registered, policyholders can access a range of features, including policy documents, claims, billing details, and loss control resources. They can also opt for paperless billing and policy documents, which is not only eco-friendly but ensures they get their information promptly. Plus, starting Oct. 1, insured copies of policy transactions will be available electronically through Agent Access, reducing waste and improving efficiency.
If your customers need assistance with registration, the EMC IT Service Desk is ready to help. They can be reached at 877-249-0581 or via email at itsupport@emcins.com.
Starting August 19, 2024, EMC will implement a new centralized mail process. All mail will now be directed to our corporate office in Des Moines, IA. This change aims to enhance efficiency by electronically scanning all incoming mail and delivering to EMC team members through our digital mailroom software.
Our new mailing address:
EMC Insurance
Attention: (insert name or department)
PO Box 712
Des Moines, IA 50306-0712
Note: Premium payments should continue to be mailed to the address on the invoice. We appreciate your continued partnership as transition to our new and improved mail center! Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Starting Oct. 1, insured copies of policy transactions will be provided electronically through Agent Access. You can review the Letter of Notice that was sent to agency principals on July 1 for more information and exceptions required by law.
What does this mean for you?
Agents will now access all policy transactions on Agent Access instead of receiving print copies by mail. Insureds will still receive any documents required by law through mail.
Flexible delivery options
How will you know when policy transactions take place?
Agents will receive daily email notifications of policy transactions via the Policy Activity Report (PAR). If you're not sure if your agency has a designated email address for the PAR, contact your local EMC sales team.
Do your policyholders know what to do, where to go, and how to report a work injury? Don't wait for their next work-injury to occur, set them up now with peace of mind, a simplified process, and the EMC OnCall Nurse program. EMC Insurance has partnered with Medcor to offer this 24/7 work-injury nurse hotline; this is a premium service paid for by EMC (for our standard, work comp policyholders) because the benefits, for all involved, outweigh the costs. Check out this short video and learn more about EMC OnCall Nurse.
Cost Savings – This program has significantly reduced medical-only and lost time claims and expenses, plus it helps avoid unnecessary medical visits and ER visits. EMC OnCall Nurse claims are currently showing an average cost savings of over $1,500 per claim; and last year, 40% of injured workers returned to work without initial medical treatment.
This program is highly valued by our enrolled policyholders; encourage your EMC policyholders to be prepared for a workplace injury by enrolling (enrollment is required). For additional information, or to enroll, contact claims.oncallnurse@emcins.com.
Agents who have opted to receive paperless notifications can now view certain conditional renewal letters online. A new section has been added to the Policy Activity Report that includes copies of certain conditional renewal letters. Paperless agents who receive this daily email will be able to view, download and print the conditional renewal letters directly from the email. The links in the email will be active until the policy renewal date.
Some conditional renewal notices will not be eligible for electronic delivery. In those instances, a copy will be mailed to agents instead. For agents who have not signed up for paperless delivery, conditional renewal notices will continue to be mailed.
